About Your Technician

As a trans person of color who has undergone over 40 hours of electrolysis myself, I have fully experienced what a vulnerable position you’re in as a client. Over my years undergoing sessions, I felt frustrated running into electrolysis technicians who were politically conversative, unsympathetic to my experiences of pain, bound up in normative beauty standards, or all-too eager to impose their own ideas about gender onto me—so I decided I might try and fill a void that was so apparent in my city by creating a safer space for hair removal based in values of self-determination and bodily autonomy.

I first received my initial certifications in electrolysis while training at the Berkowits School in NYC. I started a private practice where I worked on hundreds of different queer clients across thousands of sessions over the course of three years. During my time studying various forms of epilation, I was trained and licensed in laser hair removal as well.

After moving to Los Angeles, I became fully state-licensed in electrolysis by the Cosmetology Board of California, and was additionally endorsed by The Society for Clinical & Medical Hair Removal as a Certified Medical Electrologist and Clinical Electrologist. These SCMHR titles are supplementary national certifications I’ve pursued beyond state licensure that are intended to demonstrate knowledge and adherence to the highest industry standards.

This wide training offers me a broad understanding of the intricacies of hair removal in each stage from beginning to completion.
